Trejo was in Caracas, the nation's capital, with his professional club, Deportivo La Guaira, preparing for a league match when disaster struck hundreds of miles away.

During the night of June 24, two massive earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 shook the region in what the U.S. Geological Survey described as a "severe seismic doublet sequence."

As buildings collapsed and communities were left in ruins, Trejo desperately waited for news about his family.

A Painful Search Ends in Heartbreak

For three agonizing days, hope remained alive. Friends, rescue workers, and fellow athletes joined search efforts, praying that Trejo's loved ones would somehow be found alive beneath the rubble.

Sadly, on Saturday evening, that hope turned to heartbreak. The bodies of Yanina, Aarón, and Ainhoa were recovered.

Families across Venezuela now face the painful task of rebuilding their lives while mourning loved ones lost in one of the nation's deadliest natural disasters in recent history.

Another Mother's Final Act of Love

Andrea reportedly gave her life protecting their 1-year-old daughter, Alana, as the earthquake struck. In a deeply emotional tribute shared online, Héctor honored his wife's courage.

"You'll always be our favorite hero, Mommy," he wrote.

He promised that one day their daughter would know the incredible sacrifice her mother made.

"I'll tell her the story of how you saved her... how you gave your own life for our daughter... how you never abandoned her."
