I Saw Hell and Then Met Jesus: Jordan Samuel's Near-Death Experience

Jordan Samuel's Near-Death Experience and the Life-Changing Encounter He Says He Had with Jesus For most of his life, Jordan Samuel believed hell was nothing more than a myth.  Like many people, he thought that if he lived a decent life and treated others well, everything would work out in the end. "I went my whole life not believing that hell was real," Jordan recalls. "I didn't want to believe in all that dark stuff. I thought there was no hell." Today, he passionately says the opposite.  Jordan believes he experienced both hell and heaven during what he describes as a near-death experience, an encounter that completely transformed his life. Note: Near-death experiences (NDEs) are personal testimonies. While many people find them inspiring, they should not be considered equal to Scripture. Christians are encouraged to evaluate every experience in light of God's Word. A Childhood Full of Questions About Jesus Image created with AI. Jordan grew up in Edm...

NASA Intern Neelam Critically Injured in Sacramento Hit-and-Run Accident

Neelam, a California State University student and NASA intern, standing outdoors before the tragic Sacramento hit-and-run accident that left her critically injured.

When I read some stories, and something tragic happens to a person with so much potential, I have to ask God, WHY? Neelam Tanaji Shinde was one of those stories.

Neelam was a bright, driven, and inspiring young woman, Neelam was a final-year student at California State University, standing on the edge of a future filled with promise. She had already accomplished what many only dream of, earning an internship with NASA!

But on February 14, 2025, everything changed in an instant.

On what should have been an ordinary day, Neelam was struck by a speeding vehicle in Sacramento in a devastating hit-and-run. The impact left her with critical injuries, and she was rushed to the hospital where doctors fought to save her life. She survived—but she never woke up.

For 14 long months, Neelam remained in a coma. Her family, friends, and loved ones held onto faith, believing that one day she would open her eyes again. That somehow, she would come back to them.

But on March 28, 2026, Neelam passed away. So sad!

Neelam wasn’t just a student she was a symbol of what hard work, passion, and determination can achieve. Her time as a NASA intern spoke volumes about who she was. It reflected not only her academic brilliance but also her curiosity, her ambition, and her desire to reach beyond limits.

Stories like Neelam’s remind us how fragile life truly is. How quickly everything can change. How moments we take for granted can become the ones we wish we could relive. It reminds of the Bible verse  James 4:13-15 in where it says, we are not promised tomorrow.

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”— yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”

For Neelam’s family, the past 14 months were not just about loss they were about endurance. Waiting beside a hospital bed, holding onto hope when reality felt uncertain. Watching machines breathe for someone you love. Praying for a miracle while preparing your heart for the unknown

Neelam’s story is also a sobering reminder of the consequences of reckless actions. A hit-and-run is not just an accident, it’s a choice. A choice that leaves behind devastation, unanswered questions, and families forever changed.

In moments like this, it’s natural to ask “Why?”

  • Why would a life so full of promise be cut short?
  • Why would someone with so much ahead of them not get the chance to live it out?

These are questions that don’t always have clear answers. I love this verse in Psalm34:19

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Neelam’s life, though shortened, still carries meaning. The impact she had, the inspiration she gave, and the love she shared do not disappear. They live on in the hearts of those who knew her. And perhaps even in those who are just now hearing her story.

As we reflect on Neelam’s life, we are reminded of the things that truly matter.

  • Not just achievements, but moments.
  • Not just success, but connection.
  • Not just goals, but the people we share life with along the way.

Life can change in an instant. And sometimes, the greatest thing we can do is simply appreciate the day we’ve been given. Don't you agree?

Today, we remember Neelam Tanaji Shinde.

  • We remember her brilliance.
  • Her ambition.
  • Her potential.
  • Her life.

We lift her family up in prayer, praying for comfort, for strength, and for peace that surpasses understanding.

Because while her journey on this earth has come to an end, her story will continue to touch lives. Her legacy… will not be forgotten.
