Boy was dead for 45 minutes. His mom cried out to God-his heart started beating!

He was gone for 45 minutes. No pulse. No hope. Until God stepped in.

In 2015, 14-year-old John Smith fell through ice while playing with friends on a frozen lake in Missouri. He was underwater for 15 minutes before rescuers pulled him out. By the time he reached the hospital, doctors worked on him for nearly an hour—but his heart wouldn’t beat.

They called his mother, Joyce, into the room to say goodbye. But instead of letting go, she cried out in faith:

“Holy Spirit, please give me back my son!”

The moment those words left her mouth, John’s heart started beating.

Doctors were stunned. No one expected him to survive, let alone fully recover. But not only did he live—he walked out of that hospital without brain damage.

No explanation. No science could make sense of it.

It was a miracle.

John later said, “There’s a reason I’m still here—God’s not done with me yet.”

His story became the subject of the 2019 movie Breakthrough, and has touched millions around the world.

Let this be your reminder: God still answers prayers. He still raises the dead. Nothing is impossible for Him!
