Man Drives 24 hours to Bring Crosses and Hope To Tragedy Survivors

Dan Beazley traveled 24 hours from Michigan to help the community in Kerrville, Texas, after terrible floods. He brought large wooden crosses and messages of hope for a memorial. “The cross represents hope, healing, peace, and love,” Beazley said as he prayed and talked with grieving families at the memorial. Beazley has seen many disasters across the country, including tornadoes and hurricanes, but he said this flood is the worst he has ever seen.

On Thursday, he visited Camp Mystic, a summer camp for girls along the Guadalupe River, where he put up a larger cross. He wants to create a lasting memorial for the community. “When the roads open, we will build a small memorial so people can visit it. This one (on the fence) will come down, but that will stay there permanently. We wanted to leave a piece of our love for the community,” he said. Beazley is among many who have come to honor those who have lost their lives and leave tokens of remembrance.
