You ever walk into a room, and feel completely invisible? Like you’re surrounded by people who all seem to have it perfectly figured out?
Bold! Gifted! Confident! Yet, somehow, you’re the one questioning if you truly deserve to be in that room?
You look at yourself and think "Why would God choose someone like me?" But remember that every great journey begins with a purpose; even the ones that seem unworthy in our own eyes!
Perhaps you’ve contemplated that question, in a quiet moment, of exhaustion?
Perhaps, it is another rejection?
Maybe another missed opportunity!
Another season of depression is upon us once again! It feels as though the weight of despair is closing in. Darkness lingers longer than we would like! Every moment stretches into eternity; each day a reminder of the shadows that envelop our minds. We must confront this feeling with unwavering resolve! Acknowledging our struggles is the first step towards healing. Let us seek the light, even in the bleakest of times, because together we can break the cycle of hopelessness and emerge stronger than before!
If that’s you, let me tell you something straight from the word: you are not alone! The Bible is filled with powerful stories of individuals who faced the exact same struggles!
People, who wrestled with inadequacy, insecurity, and identity; yet, God still called them, still used them, and undeniably proved that His power is made perfect in weakness.
Moses struggled to speak.
Jeremiah! insisted he was simply too young!
Gideon saw himself as the weakest in his tribe; yet, God called each of them with intention, and for a reason!
I remember one night, not too long ago, lying awake, staring at the ceiling, praying quietly, "God, are you really sure you didn’t choose the wrong person?"
God doesn’t operate on timelines! But here’s what I’ve learned: His timing is perfect, even when we can’t see it. Patience isn’t just a virtue; it’s a vital part of faith. Every delay has a purpose and teaches us to trust His plan. We may not understand the wait, but it prepares us for what’s next. Hold on to hope, because His promises are worth the wait! In the silence, He is working in ways we can’t imagine. So embrace the journey, and watch how everything unfolds for your good!
God doesn’t operate on our timelines; He operates on trust!
Proverbs 3:5-6 states: Trust in the Lord with every ounce of your heart; and do not rely on your own limited understanding! In every aspect of your life, surrender to Him, and He will undoubtedly guide you to a straight, purpose-filled path!
When you're chosen by God, you'll face seasons that seem incomprehensible; wildernesses, waiting rooms, walls that refuse to crumble, when you thought they would. But remember, just because you can't perceive movement, doesn't mean He isn't actively working in your life.
Let's go even deeper.
Sometimes, it’s not just about the waiting; it’s about the whispers, those inner thoughts that sneak in and attempt to undermine your strength.
You'll never achieve greatness!
You're not good enough!
You are weak!
You missed your moment!
But God’s word speaks a better word! Brothers and sisters, consider who you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; yet God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, so that no one may boast before Him! 1 Corinthians 1:26-29.
Did you catch that?
God specializes in using the underestimated, the overlooked, the ones who were never picked first! This means your disqualification is your divine setup! Your flaws are the very space where God wants to display His unmatched strength!
I need you to hear this!
You didn’t earn your calling, so you can’t lose it through imperfection! You didn’t beg God to use you; He chose you for a purpose. Now, He’s about to reveal why! But proving seasons often begin with painful trials… Before the breakthrough comes the breakdown!
Before the platform, there's pressure.
Before the miracle, there's mystery.
Joseph had dreams from God; yet he faced incredible suffering: being thrown into a pit, sold into slavery, and locked in prison—all before his divine purpose came to fruition!
Why?
Because God was meticulously crafting the man, before He entrusted him with the mission!
The Lord was with Joseph, and granted him success in all his endeavors, even while he was in prison, not in the palace! Genesis 39:23
So, if you’re in a dark place right now, confused, waiting, wondering if God forgot your address, he hasn’t! He’s building something in you that can’t be rushed, because he knows what’s ahead requires more than what you currently carry!
So, if you're standing in a place of uncertainty, right now, let me share this powerful verse with you!
Being fully assured that He who initiated a remarkable transformation within you will faithfully bring it to fruition until the ultimate day of Christ Jesus! Philippians 1:6!
You are not disqualified!
God started it; God will finish it!
You are not forgotten; you are not overlooked!
You are chosen on purpose for purpose!
And this season, that feels like silence, is actually the setup for God to reveal the powerful reason why He chose you!
When we think of being chosen by God, our minds often rush to the giants of faith: the Moses, the Esters, the Elijah's, the ones who called down fire, split seas, or led nations. But there is something profoundly holy about the stories we almost miss: the ones not written in bold, but in fine print. Because God often proves His greatest points through the people nobody paid attention to!
Let me introduce you to Ananas! No, not the one who lied to the Holy Spirit and dropped dead! I'm talking about the faithful servant in Damascus—the one God trusted with something history-shifting!
In Acts 9, the feared persecutor Saul, on his journey to imprison Christians, experiences a life-altering moment, as he is suddenly blinded by a divine encounter with Jesus!
He’s been led to Damascus, utterly helpless, blind to the world around him, and likely consumed by terror!
And who does God choose to send to fulfill His divine purpose and spread His message of love and hope to the world?
Not Peter, not James, not one of the 12! He chooses Ananas—a disciple shrouded in mystery, both before and after this pivotal moment! The posture of a chosen one! In Damascus, there was a disciple named Ananas. The Lord called to him, in a vision! Ananas, Yes, Lord, he answered. Acts 9:10
That, right there, that’s the undeniable posture of a chosen one! Yes, Lord!
No title, no applause; only unwavering obedience!
Now! Ananas! wasn’t naive. He had heard about Saul. He knew this man was dangerous; a relentless killer of Christians—a ruthless hunter of people like him. So, he questioned God—not in rebellion—but from a place of deep humanity.
Lord! I have heard numerous accounts about this man, and all the devastation he has inflicted upon your sacred people! Furthermore, he has arrived here with the power to apprehend all who invoke your name! Acts 9:13-14!
And yet, God responds with something truly magnificent! Go! This man is my chosen instrument, destined to proclaim my name to the Gentiles. Acts 9:15.
Catch that?
God employs a concealed individual to reveal the destiny of an adversarial figure!
Let that sink in!
The most prolific apostle in the New Testament, the one who wrote most of the epistles, planted churches across continents, and turned the world upside down, had to be ignited by someone obscure!
Someone? No one preached about in Sunday school! Ananas's obedience became Paul's starting line. Here's why this matters: You may not have a platform; you may not be the loudest in the room, the one with the blue check or the microphone. But heaven doesn't anoint visibility! It anoints obedience.
God chooses people with listening hearts, not flashy resumes! If you are faithful in little things, you will undoubtedly be faithful in large ones! Being chosen doesn’t always equate to fame!
Ananas may have never received the spotlight; but his unwavering faithfulness during that crucial moment transformed the trajectory of the church for all time!
You see, being chosen isn’t merely about fame; it’s about being positioned, spiritually sensitive, and ready to move! Even when your name isn’t trending, the Bible is filled with individuals who embody this truth.
The unnamed boy with five loaves and two fish in John 6:9 showcases the extraordinary potential of a child’s lunch; transformed into a monumental miracle!
The servant girl who advised against seeking the prophet Elisha! 2 Kings 5:2 to 3!
A captive who unlocked the path to a general's healing!
The widow in Zarephath, who selflessly offered Elijah her last meal, in First Kings 17:9-16, experienced miraculous, divine provision, in return!
None of these were important by the world’s standards, but they were strategically placed by God. So, here’s the truth we often forget: God doesn’t just anoint the stage; God anoints the background! And maybe, just maybe, that’s where He’s placed you—for a purpose—right now.
Not because you’re forgotten, but because the greatest works of God often begin in obscurity! And, the most profound transformations can arise from the humblest beginnings.
Jesus himself spent 30 years in hiddenness, only three in ministry! If the Son of God could be off the grid for most of his life, why do we panic when we feel unseen for a few seasons? Rather than viewing these quiet moments as a void, we should see them as a vital part of our growth and preparation! Embracing the unseen allows us to cultivate depth and strength just as Jesus did! Trust in the process, and understand that great things often emerge from the shadows, where true character is forged, and purpose is revealed!
Sometimes, God hides you to prepare you for something greater! Other times, He hides you to protect you from harm. But know this: He always hides you for a divine purpose! Being hidden does not mean being forgotten; it simply means you are being covered and nurtured for what is to come.
Let me ask you this.
What if your greatest impact lies not in the spotlight, but in your unwavering obedience to your values and commitments?
What if the person you encourage tomorrow becomes the next Paul and changes everything for the better?
What if your quiet yes becomes the key that transforms someone else's destiny?
This is why God is about to reveal the profound reasons he chose you; not for fame, not for followers, but because he recognizes your unwavering faithfulness when no one else is watching!
God is watching.
And not like a critic, like a father, like a king, like a coach, scanning the earth for the hearts who say, "Yes! Lord, I will go!" even if it's inconvenient, even if it's unnoticed, even if it costs you everything.
And just like Ananas, you may never be on the cover of a Bible story book, but heaven will undoubtedly know your name. Because in the kingdom, legacy isn’t measured by followers, it’s measured by faithfulness! And when God reveals why He chose you, it won’t just be about what you did; it’ll be about who you helped birth, inspire, or release into their purpose, because you boldly said yes!
So, if you have been questioning your significance in the plan of God, remember this!
Sometimes, the most powerful vessels emerge silently, and with profound strength!
Sometimes! the most powerful sermons are delivered through our actions, rather than our words!
Sometimes, the true heroes of revival are those who seek no recognition, only the assurance that God is pleased!
The true heroes of revival are those who earnestly strive to hear the words: well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of your Lord! Matthew 25:21
That’s your reward! That’s your affirmation! That’s your validation!
You were chosen for something far greater than mere visibility! You were chosen for an eternal impact that will resonate through time! Soon, God will reveal the profound reasons behind your selection! When we consider what it means to be chosen by God, we often envision the giants of faith; but remember that you too are part of this divine narrative!
Sometimes, God conceals you to prepare you for a greater purpose; other times, he shields you to safeguard your journey. But, rest assured, he always hides you with intention and meaning!
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall surely abide under the powerful shadow of the Almighty!
Hidden doesn’t mean forgotten; it means waiting to be discovered!
Let me ask you this.
What if your greatest impact lies not in the spotlight, but in your steadfast obedience?
What if the person you inspire tomorrow goes on to become the next Paul?
What if your quiet yes holds the key to someone else's destiny?
This is why God is about to show the world why he chose you! Not for fame, not for followers, but because he recognizes your unwavering faithfulness, even when no one else cheers!
The eyes of the Lord diligently search throughout the earth; with the mighty purpose of empowering those whose hearts are wholeheartedly devoted to Him! 2 Chronicles 16:9
God is watching! Not like a critic—God is watching! Like a father, like a king, like a coach—scanning the earth for the hearts who say, "Yes, Lord! I will go!"
That's your reward!
That's your affirmation!
That's your validation!
You were chosen for something far greater than mere visibility! You were chosen for a legacy that will last forever! And very soon, God will reveal the profound reasons behind this destiny!
Let’s delve into the spiritual battle that often underlies your waiting! The truth is that being chosen by God doesn’t always manifest as favor! In fact, it rarely feels glorious or grand. More often, it brings with it a sense of pain, pressure, and spiritual attack! You may even feel like you’re being targeted for something you’re yet to fully comprehend!
You start wondering, why you are struggling so much?
Why does everything feel 10 times harder for me?
Why does it feel like just as I draw closer to my purpose everything suddenly unravels?
Let me tell you why.
Because you're a threat! The enemy doesn't target individuals he doesn't fear! He doesn't squander resources on those who pose no real challenge to his agenda! The pressure you've been under is not evidence of your shortcomings!
It's proof that your purpose is powerful.
Look at the profound words of Jesus in John 10:10! The thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; but I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. This promise of abundant life transcends mere existence and invites us to experience true fulfillment and joy! A life overflowing with purpose and grace awaits those who embrace His teachings and seek a deeper connection with Him!
Satan's goal is clear, and relentless! He seeks to rob you of your confidence, and extinguish your momentum. He aims to shatter your very identity! Yet, he understands he cannot reverse what God has decreed. Instead, he attempts to persuade you to turn away from it. This is the essence of the enemy's deception! It manifests in the insidious thought that you are not truly called!
You are not called because you are too flawed.
You missed your moment.
God is blessing everyone but you.
If you’re not anchored in God’s truth, those lies will begin to feel like undeniable facts! Allow me to guide you to a moment in scripture that is frequently overlooked.
Luke 22:31-32 Jesus speaks directly to Peter and says "Simon! Simon! Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat! But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail!"
Your faith is dangerous!
Jesus understood that Peter was destined to stumble! He knew the moment would come when Peter would deny him. He recognized that Peter would experience his lowest point! Yet, instead of praying for Peter to avoid failure, Jesus fervently prayed that Peter's faith would remain unshaken.
Why?
Because your faith is the most powerful weapon you possess! The enemy seeks to undermine your belief, not just in God, but in yourself, in your calling, in your capacity, in your assignment! Because if he can convince you that you’re disqualified, he won’t need to hinder your future! You will turn your back on it all, on your own!
Here's the truth.
Spiritual attack is a powerful confirmation of spiritual assignment! The moment Jesus was baptized and heaven opened, declaring him God’s beloved Son, he was immediately led into the wilderness to face temptation from Satan, as recorded in Matthew 4:1! This profound truth illustrates that significant spiritual milestones often invite spiritual opposition, serving as a testament to our calling and purpose!
Don’t overlook the pattern! Affirmation arrived, and soon after, the opposition emerged!
God will announce who you are, and then the enemy will challenge it! So, if you’re under fire right now—emotionally, mentally, spiritually—it’s not because God has forgotten you; it’s because the devil remembers you! He remembers who you are! He remembers what you carry! He remembers the prayers you’ve prayed, the promises spoken over you, the fire you’ve walked through and didn’t die in! He sees the calling, and it scares him!
That's why the enemy whispers things like:
You'll never recover from this.
God's using everyone but you.
You're wasting your life.
You're not anointed enough.
But! the word of God! decisively silences! every lie!
No weapon formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn! Isaiah 54:17
Notice! It doesn’t say the weapons won’t form; it says they won’t prosper. So yes, the depression may hit!
Yes, the financial pressure might mount.
Yes! The betrayal may cut deep, but God has already factored all of it into the plan, and still chose you anyway!
In all these things, we are indeed more than conquerors, through him who loved us! Romans 8:37!
Not after all these things! In them! In the pressure! In the breakdown! In the battle! You are still victorious, not because of your strength, but because of his sovereignty!
This battle isn’t passive! Let me emphasize this truth: this battle demands your active participation! Equip yourself with the full armor of God, so that you can confidently stand against the devil’s schemes! Ephesians 6:11
This means it's time to break the silence in your struggle! Declare powerful words over your life! Pray with the fervor of knowing your future relies on it, because it truly does! Worship with the confidence that the battle is already won, because it absolutely is! You are not fighting for victory; you are fighting from a place of victory! The blood of Jesus has already secured your triumph!
You’ve been weathering storms that should have shattered someone else! You’ve been navigating through battles that don’t belong on your resume! The only reason you haven’t seen your promise yet is because the enemy is trying to blind you from your breakthrough! But today, the Lord is proclaiming over you: enough is enough! You will not be defeated! You will not be swallowed! You will not die in this! Your anointing is alive and active! Your purpose is vibrant and thriving! Your assignment is moving forward with unstoppable momentum!
Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are always by my side, guiding and protecting me. Psalm 23:4
Do not camp in the valley! Do not die in the valley!
You’re emerging stronger! Walk through the valley! You’re stepping out, not empty-handed! You’re coming out stronger, sharper, and more anointed than ever before! Because the very thing the enemy tried to use to take you down, God will use to lift you up! Let this be your powerful reminder!
If you're under pressure, it's because you're carrying power! If you're facing resistance, it's because you're moving forward! If you're being attacked, it's because your life is a threat to darkness! So, don't quit! Don't fold! Don't believe the lie! God is still with you! The call is still active! The favor is still on you! And he's about to prove why he chose you!
