Hi everyone, thank you again for coming to our page and joining us. Do you believe in God's intervention with His angels? This is an inspiring story about a homeless man that is ready to take his life when something happens that is beyond his understanding. Let's join together in praising our God who gives us new beginnings with infinite possibilities. We know we can always trust Him to choose the only path for us that leads to joy and happiness.
Our story starts in Los Angeles and a man that has been homeless for many years, sleeping wherever he could find rest, alleyways, subways, homeless shelters, or abandon buildings. He tells us that on one very cold night, he was trying to sleep in between some office buildings in the city, but because he had not eaten for three days, he found it hard to sleep. He was suffering so much, he had become so hungry, that he was going to end it all, and take his life.
He got up around 5 am on this very foggy day. He proceeded to hide his sleeping bag, and remembers thinking, ""if I could just get $2.65, it would allow me to go over to the red building breakfast place and have breakfast, but where and how could I get the money?"" he thought to himself. $2.65 at that time in his life, was like trying to get $1,000.
Our hungry, desperate man started walking down the alley in the thick fog, and out of nowhere an older man with a cane was walking towards him. The stranger stopped and said hello. The homeless man returned a greetings. The stranger then turns around and tells the homeless man that there is some money back from where he came, by the tree on the left side of the alley. He tells the homeless man that he can't get the money because he can't bend down with his bad back.
Our homeless man was so excited that he started walking passed the stranger about five or six steps, and then remembered that he wanted to say thank you, but when he turned back to say thanks, the stranger was gone. The homeless man tried his best to find the stranger, looking up and down the alley.... but he had just vanished. He was walking more slowly than an old turtle with that cane, so how could he disappear like that.
The homeless man went to the location that the stranger told him about and found the tree. He walked over to the tree and looked, and looked but nothing was there, so he gave up and walked across the street. But as he walked a little voice in his head told him to go back to the tree and try again. So he turned around and went back to the tree and got on both knees. On the ground spread all around the tree was red bark, but as he looked again for the money, he saw nothing. That was it, he had made up his mind, today was the day that he was going to kill himself.
Weak, tired, cold, and still sleepy, the homeless man got up and made his way back across the street. But again that small voice spoke to him and said, go back and try one more time. As he made his way back to the tree, he had a quick vision of himself jumping off an office building somewhere or jumping off the freeway overpass. When he got to the tree again, he again got down on both knees and looked, but saw nothing. But just then that small voice said to him, why don't you take your hands and move some of the red bark out of the way, and so he did, and to his great surprise, there were some coins.
After quickly collecting the coins and began to count it, to his surprise, the total amount was $2.65, just enough for him to have his first meal in three days and saving his life!
Trusting God and His plans for us may very well lead us to witnessing the work of His angels.
