3 Bible Verses To Help You Beat Temptation
Temptation. It is all around us, and it is different for each person and each of the sexes. For women it may be gossiping, lying, or being deceitful. For me the biggie is sexual temptation. But regardless, we all deal with temptation. So the question is How Do We Beat Temptation?
When we did our live show this morning, we gave three verses to help you when you are tempted. You can watch the full video below.
This answer "How To Beat Temptation" is easy but difficult to turn away from that temptation. The answer is Jesus.
What do you mean Jesus?
Let me explain. We have a High Priest that was fully human and fully Divine. A fancy word for this is, "Hypostatic Union." Since Jesus was fully human, He was tempted just as we are. He then can sympathize with us and understand what we are going through.
So the next time you are tempted, remember Jesus. He knows what you are going through, and He is there to provide the help you need to beat the temptation.
Here are those three wonderful verses. I would memorize 1 Corinthians 10:13, it will help you when you are tempted... claim this verse.
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
Hebrews 2:18
For because he (Jesus) himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Hebrews 4:15
For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.
