As I was reading the story of King Josiah, I could see his heart for God, it was to do the right thing, and that impressed me. He was king since the age of 8, and he had ruled for 10 years before he discovered The Book of the Law. When he found the book, it changed his life and the life of others around him. The Bible spends the next 25 verses describing how King Josiah cleaned house. He went even as far as destroying the bones of those who did not follow God's Law.
In verse 23:25, The Bible goes as far as to state that "Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses, nor did any like him arise after him".
After reading all this, I could not help to think, here is a man that the Word of GOD changed his life, he did not even know it (God) existed....... WE know that this Word of GOD exists, we do not have to find it, hopefully you have one in your home. Maybe your Bible has dust on it, maybe it is tucked underneath the seat of your car with all the McDonald's french fries. Maybe you have your Bible with you right now, and it is never 25 feet away from you. Where ever your Bible is, have you let it change your life? Do you have Josiah's fire?
The Bible is the most eye opening, exciting book you will ever read. You will find yourself and the Creator of the Universe in it, together. I encourage you to spend time in it everyday, it will change your life! If you do not own a Bible you can Shop For Bibles.
And Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the secretary, "I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the LORD." And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
When the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, he tore his clothes. For great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not obeyed the words of this book, to do according to all that is written concerning us."
And the king went up to the house of the LORD, and with him all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem and the priests and the prophets, all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant that had been found in the house of the LORD. 3 And the king stood by the pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people joined in the covenant.
